One position gives a 4° advance of usual cam timing and another position is 4° retarded of the original timing. An overall 8° timing range is available. Made in the U.S.A.

Descriptions and notes

On late 77 and later engines, the pitch diameter on the camshaft, pinion gear and breather valve gear was changed. These components are not interchangeable with earlier style components unless replaced in sets only. Late 77 and later gear sets are identified by a circular groove machined in the outer face of the cam gear. 298-2B Grind, Mechanical: Some engines with thick valve seats and/or thick valve heads may have a valve-to-valve clearance problem with this cam. Be sure to check spacing between the valves during installation.
